Can you hot curl locs
Section your hair into squares. Backcomb the hair or wrap it around your finger in sections. Secure the dreads with rubber bands or elastic hair bands.

If I don't have time for curl I figure out a way to style my hair without them, but under NO circumstance would I put a friggin' curling iron to my locs That said I'm certain there's a member who discussed flat ironing their locs, so maybe they'll chime in.
No never tried it, thought heat would damage the locs, if time is really short there are enough loc updo styles to do or dress the hair with ornaments if the locs are short or wear fancy accessories elsewhere on the body. Go PANK you know you want to I don't even own a curling iron any more. And i can't say i'd be motivated to go out and buy one for my locs.
To have curls in my locs would never be that much of a serious or desperate affair for me. If a rushed event like that were to occur, it would be nothing that a bunch of large open bobby pins couldn't handle.
I'd put up me an updo and call it a day. Other than that no heat. No hot curlers. None of that fancy heated stuff. Why would anyone do such a thing?? Anyway, I've never owned a curling iron and at this moment I don't even own a comb so the answer would be no.

Actually as long as your locs are mature you can do just about anything you want with in reason. Some one else asked the same question. Don't do it. The heat from the curling irons will damage your locs and make them more prone to be dry and brittle and they will break off very easily.
I had my locs for five years untill I just recently cut them. The next morning your locs may have a mildewy smell. I would suggest that you get a hood dryer if you don'thave one already.
That used to save me a lot of time. And when they get longer, you could use those little bendable "hotdog rollers". Good Luck! Thanx much 4 ure time. I've had my Sisterlocks three and half years. I would not use a curling iron because of the heat being applied to the hair. You can get some great curls using a braidout with the ends twisted into a knot while wet.
Also rag curls come out smoother and curlier, as opposed to crinklier. Just like using paper ends for rollers, except you use strips of fresh rags, roll wet sections with or without setting lotion, and leave in till thoroughly dry. My rag curls last about three or four days, and my locks are a few inches past my shoulders.
