What do foamposites do
Hey night, this is only slightly relevant to this but I was wondering if you would ever consider playing some sb dunks? Just putting the idea out there in case you ever run out of shoes to review. Makes sense considering dunks were originally a ball shoe. I wouldnt do one just because it would be redundant. Fair enough. If you own or plan on getting a pair of sb dunks, you can take out the insole and use it for more cushioning. The zoom unit and foam are constructed into the insole.
Just a heads up. I have a pair, they are a little more narrow than my hoop shoe insoles so I usually use the Jordan insole if I need more cushion. It would be nice to have the foam toe though. I can never get my pair to lock down my heel while playing bball either. Not sustainable but it works. Of course, they are my grails so I could be biased….
They are comfortable but I dont know how well I will be able to bend them with my size and weight. Its something that I dont usually care about for casual use but performance wise always ends up being a bummer.
I tried them on and they felt amazing, possibly better than my all-time favorite, ZK6. Method Man once called it the ugliest shoe of all time. Chris Danforth , an editor at Highsnobiety , has never owned a pair of Foams and pretty much agrees. But aside from sneaker enthusiasts like Williams, and many players in the NBA, the Foamposite has also gained popularity among celebrities who like their footwear weird.
It was a whole new wave of sneaker technology. Part of the appeal is that Foams are a blank canvas to bring crazy colorways to life.
In fact, Hardaway once said he was drawn to the shoe because of its comfort. You have to find the right size. Styling them can be tricky, too. You gotta have them a little baggy. Once worn, it became apparent that the Foamposite model was a comfortable and high-performing shoe that was worth the extra expense. The development of the Foamposite took three years to complete.
Designer Eric Avar tackled a unique idea that others said could not be achieved. The experimental shoe was designed from an inspiration taken from the common beetle.
The design team used the physical structure of a beetle to achieve its aerodynamic features. Part of the expense is due to the painstaking process of trial land error that was required to develop the prototype of the shoe and test it in preparation for production.
The Foamposite features a synthetic upper that is strong and durable to provide ample support for the feet. It is also supple enough for comfort and flexibility. A carbon plate provides yet more strength and longevity and it is the factor that makes this shoe look like something out of a science fiction movie. The upper is made of a material that started as a liquid. This allows for the construction of a seamless upper that is crafted of a single piece of material.
Foamposite in its raw synthetic form is poured into molds and shaped to get the perfect shape for each size. The molded upper is required to feature five times the traditional strength of using glue or stitching the upper to the midsole. Foamposite pushed thee limits. The cost of the molds and the molding process also adds to the overall expense of the model.
The material must be heated to a temperature of to degrees Fahrenheit. The high price is easily explained by the overhead costs for molds, labor, packaging, shipping, and marketing with a slim margin for profit. According to High Snobiety , the Nike Foamposite is a model that is either hated or loved. It was first worn by Wildcats team member Mike Bibby of Arizona. From this point forward the Air Foamposite was a model that made waves on the courts that stood out above the rest.
