In Eastern Africa and islands in the Indian Ocean, shark meat has been traded and has been a significant source of protein for centuries. Shark meat is common and popular in Asia. Shark meat is typically consumed in prepared forms in Japan, such as in prepared fish sausage, surimi, fish paste, fish balls, and other products.

They hunt in large schools and eat bony fish, shrimps, squid, and crabs. Thresher shark is the only shark that hunts using its tail. Thresher Shark is meaty in texture, firm, and dense but has a relatively mild flavor. While some may think it's a joke, Thresher Shark does have a taste profile similar to chicken or alligator meat.
The taste is slightly sweet and due to the meatiness of the shark, it makes for great grilling!
